Abstract
Delhi Ophthalmology Society’s 63rd Annual Conference6–8 April 2012, Ashok Hotel, New Delhi, IndiaThe Delhi Ophthalmology Society held its 63rd annual conference from 6 to 8 April 2012 which was attended by ophthalmologists from all over India. The meeting carried a central theme of ‘Future of Ophthalmology, Today’ and this was reflected in a large majority of the scientific sessions. The meeting was attended by around 4000 delegates and 400 national and international faculties. The highlights of the meeting included live femtosecond laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis, femtocataract and speciality surgeries, high-level discussions on controversies in ophthalmology and comprehensive academic sessions, and scientific symposia holistically covering prominent topics in ophthalmology. The future outlook of various investigative and therapeutic modalities were discussed both in subspeciality symposia and a special symposium titled after the theme of the conference. In this report, the authors cover the key sessions and symposia.
