Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of teaching methods in the process of training future specialists in physical education and sports. The purpose of the article is to investigate the introduction of active teaching methods in the professional training of future specialists in physical education and sport in Ukraine. The objectives of the study: to investigate the degree of use of active teaching methods by teachers of higher education institutions in Ukraine; to analyse the peculiarities of the use of active teaching methods in the training of future specialists in physical education and sports. Methods used: theoretical analysis, synthesis, systematisation and generalisation, questionnaires, methods of descriptive statistics. The results of the study revealed that the active teaching methods (business and role games, case study, method of projects, trainings and survey) lacked popularity among teachers of higher education institutions of Ukraine in the process of training of future specialists in physical education and sports for professional activity. In particular, the survey is regularly used by 27,19% of interviewed teachers, business and role games − 18,37%; trainings − 14, 37%; project method − 9.90%; case study − only 4,02% of teachers. The introduction of the above-mentioned active teaching methods in the training process of future specialists in physical education and sports for professional activities contributed to the improvement of the level of professional knowledge and the development of a complex of gnostic, strategy, constructive, organizational and communicative skills and abilities. The analysis of the obtained results confrms the need of modernisation of existing system of training of future specialists in physical education and sports using innovative training technologies. This will improve the quality of training and increase the level of professional knowledge, skills and abilities of future specialists.
