Abstract

The main contribution of this paper is to design active disturbance rejection control for a nonlinear thermal process to track reference signals while operating under the influence of disturbances. A linear active disturbance rejection controller is designed through an extended state observer to estimate and compensate the uncertainties of the system. The simulation result demonstrates very good performance of the controller in the absence of an accurate mathematical model of the process.
