Abstract

Zinc phosphate was doped with silver to enhance its antibacterial potential. The samples were prepared by coprecipitation technique in the presence of suitable surfactant and analyzed using XRD, SEM, and FTIR physicochemical techniques. The prepared sample was analyzed to assess its antibacterial properties against S. aureus and E. coli. The antifungal activity was evaluated against S. cerevisiae and A. brasiliensis and compared with that of zinc phosphate. Around a 5-fold increase in antimicrobial activity was observed with a silver activated zinc phosphate than that over the blank
