Over the course of this planning period, more than 200 physician leaders, faculty, and staff work together to construct the various aspects of the program. All planning and decisions are guided by the Committee on Annual Meeting Oversight (AMOC) and led by five diverse, expert physicians and 12 “Track Chairs” who oversee focused tracks and their related committees. It's a challenging but rewarding process to build an educational event of this magnitude for our specialty. Submissions open for general sessions starting in August of the prior year. All ASA members are encouraged to submit proposals to participate in the meeting in this unique and important way. Following the close of the submission site in late November, the AMOC and Educational Track Committees conduct a peer review of every submission for possible inclusion in the conference program.
