Abstract
Abstract Ultrasonic velocities of fructose and maltose solutions in water and in aqueous 0.5 M NH 4 Cl. at 298.15, 303.15, 308.15 and 313.15 K have been measured. From these, adiabatic compressibility ( β ad ), apparent molar compressibility ( φ K ) and solvation number (S n ) are calculated and discussed in the light of solute-solvent and solute-solute interactions.
