Abstract
In this work we consider optimum configuration of split phase of open overhead line. For analysis of open transmission line efficiency, we used methods of math simulation in evaluation environment MATLAB/Simulink using library elements SimScapeSimPowerSystems. We used geometrical configurations of transmission line towers and characteristics of aluminium-steel conductors as initial data for analysis. We gave recommendations about exploitation of open transmission lines for different voltage types. We found out that the minimum value of full self-compensation length in open transmission line attained with maximum approach of split phase components, keeping in mind mechanical and electrical strength of interphase spacer blocks.
