Abstract
THE medical literature contains few reports of aberrant or ectopic lacrimal gland tissue. There are two reports describing aberrant lacrimal gland tissue in the orbit causing exophthalmos. Boudet and Bertezène in 1964,<sup>1</sup>reported a case of exophthalmos due to lacrimal adenoma in an extopic position in the orbit. Green and Zimmerman,<sup>2</sup>in a retrospective study, reported on eight cases of exophthalmos due to ectopic lacrimal tissue in the orbit. In the case reported here, aberrant lacrimal gland tissue was found deep inside the orbit causing unilateral exophthalmos. <h3>Report of a Case</h3> An 18-year-old Negro boy was examined on Nov 9, 1964, and found to exhibit exophthalmos with 7 mm proptosis of the left eye as compared to the right eye.
