Abstract

By building the framework of information technology capabilities, the organizational structure and enterprise performance, this paper makes an empirical research based on the 381 samples of large and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises in the Pearl River Delta. The results show that both information technology capabilities and the organization structure have significant positive impact on enterprise performance. It is noteworthy that the organization structure only influences the enterprise's non-financial performance but not the financial performance. Besides, IT capabilities is one of the important factors which cause the change of the characteristics of organization structure. The conclusion indicates that the changes in organization structure should not only be taken seriously, but also be promoted actively. And nurturing the IT capabilities is an important mean to change the organization structure of enterprises.
