A Study on the proposal of toy design guideline alppying Erikson’s psychsocial developmental theory : Focusing on sociality of Korean children aged between 4 and 5

Abstract

완구는 구매자와 사용자가 다른 대표적인 제품이며, 사용자인 아동의 발달과정에서의 완구의 중요성은 최근에 더욱 강조되고 있다. 발달은 전 생애를 걸쳐 일어나는 변화 과정으로 특히 유아동기의 발달은 이후에 큰 영향을 미치며 속도가 빨라 이 시기의 발달의 중요성에 주목하고 관심을 가져야 한다. 발달은 순차적인 과정이므로 이 시기의 발달이 잘 이루어진다면 이어질 발달단계에서도 순조로운 발달을 기대할 수 있을 것이다. 본 연구에서는 평생 동안 지속적으로 발달하는 인간의 자아와 사회적 환경에 대한 중요성을 연구한 ‘에릭슨의 발달이론’을 바탕으로 유아동기의 일상생활에서 많은 시간이 할애되는 놀이가 아동의 발달에 미치는 영향을 사전 조사하였으며, 과거 단순 흥미 위주의 시각적, 창의성을 다루는 수준이었으나 현재에는 다양한 발달영역으로 구분되어 놀이와 장난감은 발달에 도움을 주는 수단으로 여러 가지 이론과 이론을 적용한 교구들이 개발되고 있다는 것을 사례연구를 통해 알아보았다. 이를 통해 본 연구에서는 인간의 전 생애 성장과정에서 겪는 발달에 대한 이해와 유아동기의 발달의 중요성과 발달에 관한 놀이의 의미를 이해하고 현재 우리나라 아이들의 교육 문화에서의 사회성 발달영역 부족함을 인지하고 그에 따라 사회성 발달에 도움을 주는 완구 디자인가이드라인 기본방향을 제안한다Toy is a good example product that the purchaser and the user are different. Recently they are focusing more on the importance of toys in the process of child development. Development is a process of change happening all through life. Especially the development of a child is so fast that we should take attention in this period. As the development is a sequential process, the good development at this period guarantees favorable development in the next development stage. Through the development theory of Erikson, this study confirms that a human is developed all through life and recognizes the importance of self-identity and social environment. It understands the effect of playing that occupies much time in early childhood on the development of a child. They played with toys simply for toys making them pretty and creative in the past. Now it was confirmed through examples that they are making toys that are helpful for education applying many theories as ways to be helpful for developing children. This study tries to understand the development we experience through our whole lives, the importance of childhood development and the meaning of play for development. The educational cluture of Korean children laxks social development. Then it suggests the direction of toy design guidelines that helps sociality development.
