Abstract
In contemporary art, a realm where boundaries blur, rules are dismantled, and new forms emerge, the relationship with artificial intelligence (AI) introduces a new challenge. This challenge concerns how much and to what extent AI can be incorporated into contemporary art. This study explores the impact of AI on creativity within cinema, a domain of contemporary art. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 10 professionals from the production field, and the data were analyzed using an interpretive approach. Before the interviews, participants were presented with two treatments—one written by a human screenwriter and the other by AI—and were asked to provide feedback on these texts. The study found that most participants were skeptical about AI's integration into contemporary art and held biases against its use in screenwriting. However, despite these biases, most participants unknowingly rated the AI-assisted treatment more successful.
