Abstract

This study used quasi-experimental research with sixty people as experimental samples. The entire experimental period lasted for six weeks. The experimental instruments are ARCS Motivation Scale, Learning Effect Rating Scale and Music Appreciation Test Papers for students. The results show that applying ATS to music appreciation curriculum in junior high school can effectively promote learning motivation and learning effectiveness. Also, ATS is highly correlated with learning motivation and learning effectiveness. By learning through ATS, the learners can automatically show interests in music appreciation in daily lives and broaden aesthetic experiences in art and culture. In addition, feasible suggestions in future practice and research would be proposed on the basis of findings.
