Abstract

For Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM), the presence frequency offsets between transmitter and receiver oscillators cause loss of orthogonality between subcarriers resulting in Inter Carrier Interference (ICI). Different pulse shaping techniques such as Improved Sinc power pulse(ISP), Sinc parametric exponential pulse(SPEP), Sinc parametric linear pulse(SPLP) and Improved phase modified Sinc pulse(IPMSP) for reduction of ICI are compared in this paper. The comparison is carried out using parameters such as ICI power and Signal to Interference ratio(SIR). It is observed that IPMSP performed better than the other pulses for selected parameter values.
