Abstract

In this paper, a simplified technique is proposed for the generation of equal power correlated Rayleigh fading envelopes for multiantenna systems with any desired correlation. The procedure employs consecutive coloring of uncorrelated reference processes using real correlation matrix of envelopes instead of the complex covariance matrix of the Gaussian samples utilized in traditional techniques. Doppler frequency shift, propagation delay spread, and frequency separation between envelopes are also considered for different transmission conditions. The proposed technique can be used for performance evaluation of various multiantenna schemes including single user and multiuser applications. Simulation results of practical examples show that the proposed algorithm provides high accuracy similar to the existing methods with less computational efforts.
