Abstract

Abstract The uncontrollable wear has been the severe problem faced by various industries in the past and also found existing in the current scenario. Various investigations were carried out for developing high wear resistant steels, alloys/high entropy alloys, composites, coatings and also been success in recent years. From the outline review, the wear mechanisms at higher temperatures are totally different from the wear mechanism at room temperature. Also, the corrosion, oxidation resistance and hardness played a crucial role on the wear resistance of materials at higher temperature. Hence, a review is necessary to report the various wear mechanism of high temperature materials with hardness and oxidation resistance. Accordingly, the present research article emphasis the recent progress, developments and wear mechanisms reported for various high temperatures wear resistance materials.
