Abstract
Recent developments in additive manufacturing technologies have made it possible to print fiber reinforced composite materials that have reasonable mechanical performance. In this paper, a brief review of the additive manufacturing technologies for composites are presented. The focus is the mechanical properties of both discontinuous and continuous fiber reinforced composites fabricated by state-of-the-art additive manufacturing technologies. The deformation mechanisms are also briefly discussed. In addition, recommendations for future work are made.
