Abstract
Healthcare is rapidly evolving from a standard hospital and specialist-centered strategy to a dispersed patient-centered one. Communication technology among other technologies have made it possible to provide tailored and distant healthcare services. Currently, the existent 4G network and other communications technologies are generally used in smart healthcare activities. Present communication technologies are inadequate to meet the increasing demands that smart healthcare applications impose on communication networks. The rising 5G is anticipated to bolster applications, which can fulfil most of the prerequisites such as high bandwidth, ultra-high reliability, high energy efficiency, and ultra-low latency. The futurity of the smart healthcare networks is anticipated to be a combination of 5G and IoT devices, which are anticipated to extend the cellular scope and handle security problems. This chapter provides an overview of taxonomy, research trends, difficulties, and future research themes.
