Abstract
A new antenna with beam reconfigurability using an active cylindrical Frequency Selective Surface (FSS) structure is presented. For illustration of the concept, the proposed antenna has been designed, simulated and its characteristics are carefully optimized using CST Microwave studio. The measured results show that radiation pattern can be swept along the entire azimuth plane in 12 steps with a high gain of 10.2 dBi and 53.6° beam width with −10dB band width of 7.91% at the centered frequency of 2.45GHz.
