Results Four themes were extracted: lack of violence cognition, lack of violence prevention awareness, lack of violence dealing ability, and lack of psychological adjustment ability after violent incidents. Conclusions Based on the hospitals' organizational environment and the role characteristics of student nurses, nursing educators should strengthen the training from the aspects of violence prevention, dealing and after-the-event recovery for the student nurses, so as to improve their WPV management competence.
