Abstract

This work present an AGV Expert System (AES) which has been developed to control an automated guided vehicle system. It has been implemented in OPS5, a production system language. The AES structure is shown in two main aspects: the element classes used to model an AGV system and the organization of the AES knowledge base. Finally, rules used to deal with the load assignment problem in systems whose vehicles can transport more than one load each time have been considered.
