Abstract
David Waldecker and Tim Hector refer the basic tenets of the domestication approach and discuss its relevance for a praxeological and situated understanding of media use, on the one hand, and for the study of current, digital and interconnected media infrastructures, such as smart cooking devices, drones and robots, on the other hand. They suggest that the approach is still useful today. Also, this introduction to the thematic issue briefly relates the contents of the interdisciplinary papers in the volume.
