Abstract

The measured impedance of ground distance protection in the double-circuit transmission lines on the same tower is affected by the zero-sequence compensation coefficient, which varies greatly when the fault location and the operation modes of other lines are different, the protection performance will be greatly affected; thus, an optimized setting method is needed. in this paper, a performance optimization method of ground distance protection for multicircuit transmission lines on the same tower based on substation information is proposed. Influence factors and their mechanism on affecting the zero-sequence compensation coefficient is analyzed firstly. A self-adaptive setting method of zero-sequence compensation coefficient using substation information is proposed. The PSCAD simulation results show that the method can improve the measurement accuracy of ground distance protection.
