Abstract

Este trabalho, parte integrante da pesquisa “PET UFMG 1985-2005: seu legado e sua história”, concentra se em historiar a concepção do Programa de Educação Tutorial, com o intuito de detalhar seus princípios e fundamentos. Originalmente denominado Programa Especial de Treinamento, o PET foi diretamente inspirado em um experimento acadêmico da Faculdade de Ciências Econômicas da UFMG, o Sistema de Bolsas, criado em 1954. Neste artigo traçamos um paralelo entre os princípios do Sistema de Bolsas da FACE e a proposta original do PET, conforme instituído em 1979 pela CAPES.
