Abstract
This article aims to present reflections and results obtained in research on the insertion of orality as an object of study in Portuguese language classes. This research is based on the assumptions of several authors, among them Ataliba de Castilho (2012), Cyranka and Magalhães (2012), Bortoni Ricardo (2005), Marcuschi (2007), Marcos Bagno (2006), Bakhtin (2006) ) and Geraldi (2015); and resulted in the elaboration of a methodological subsidy for Portuguese-speaking teachers who, although they understand the need for oral work, have still been questioned about how to do it. The methodological proposal elaborated is called "Stories to Tell Stories" as an instrument for the study of oral or cultural narratives in order to bring the object of study closer to the student's cultural reality, which makes possible the experience of an interesting and productive methodology, with which can greatly contribute to a more efficient teaching of this discipline.
