Abstract

A new organic–inorganic hybrid compound based on Anderson polyoxomolybdates, (C6H10N3O2)2Na(H2O)2[Al(OH)6Mo6O18]·6H2O (1) have been isolated by the conventional solution method and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, infrared, ultraviolet spectroscopy and Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA). This compound crystallized in the triclinic system, space group P−1, with a=94.635(1)Å, b=10.958(1)Å, c=11.602(1)Å, α=67.525(1)°, β=71.049(1)°, γ=70.124(1)° and Z=1. The crystal structures of the compounds exhibit three-dimensional supramolecular assembly based on the extensive hydrogen bonding interactions between organic cations, sodium cations, water molecules and Anderson polyoxoanions. The infrared spectrum fully confirms the X-ray crystal structure and the UV spectrum of the title compound exhibits an absorption peak at 210nm.
