Abstract
A new lucanid species within the Neolucanus laticollis group, Neolucanus kontumensis sp. nov., is described and illustrated from Kon Tum Province, Central Vietnam. This new species can be differentiated from the other species in the group in having a compact head and pronotum, only apically dentate protibiae, and a peculiar color pattern on the elytra. A checklist of all named Neolucanus species and subspecies from Vietnam is given.
