Cost rationalization has become imperative in every economic system in order to create adequate foundations for its efficient and sustainable management. Competitiveness in the global market is extremely high and it is challenging to manage business and logistics systems, especially with regards to financial parameters. It is necessary to rationalize costs in all activities and processes. The presence of inventories is inevitability in every logistics system, and it tends to create adequate and symmetrical policies for their efficient and sustainable management. In order to be able to do this, it is necessary to determine which products represent the largest percentage share in the value of procurement, and which are the most represented quantitatively. For this purpose, ABC analysis, which classifies products into three categories, is applied taking into account different constraints. The aim of this paper is to form a new model that involves the integration of ABC analysis, the Full Consistency Method (FUCOM), and a novel Interval Rough Combined Compromise Solution (CoCoSo) for stock management in the storage system. A new IRN Dombi weighted geometric averaging (IRNDWGA) operator is developed to aggregate the initial decision matrix. After grouping the products into three categories A, B and C, it is necessary to identify appropriate suppliers for each category in order to rationalize procurement costs. Financial, logistical, and quality parameters are taken into account. The FUCOM method has been used to determine the significance of these parameters. A new Interval CoCoSo approach is developed to determine the optimal suppliers for each product group. The results obtained have been modeled throughout a multi-phase sensitivity analysis.

Cost rationalization has become imperative in every economic system in order to create adequate foundations for its efficient and sustainable management. Competitiveness in the global market is extremely high and it is challenging to manage business and logistics systems, especially in regards to financial parameters. The presence of inventories is inevitability in every logistics system, and it tends to create adequate policies for their efficient and sustainable management. In order to be able to do this, it is necessary to determine which products represent the largest percentage share in the value of procurement, and which are the most represented quantitatively. In this paper, the warehouse of construction material that represents the wholesale system is considered. Taking into account that it is wholesale, it is necessary to determine what the procurement costs are and what the demand is for certain products. The grouping of products into three categories A, B and C was performed, after which it is necessary to identify appropriate suppliers for each category in order to rationalize procurement costs. Financial, logistical and quality parameters are taken into account. The FUCOM method has been used to determine the significance of these parameters and ARAS method is applied for supplier evaluation and selection.

Grouping products to determine their impact on business is a necessity. Therefore, in this paper, the integration of ABC analysis and the full consistency method (FUCOM) for determining a group of products is carried out. FUCOM is used to obtain the weighting coefficients for a group of products of Gorenje appliances. The research was conducted in the "Mepromex" shopping mall. The FUCOM method is applied to determine the values of three criteria: unit price, quantity, and annual procurement value. These criteria play a major role in the final sorting of products in this type of analysis. Additionally, a comparative analysis (i.e. single-criterion ABC analysis) is performed for each criterion separately.

  • Eldina Mahmutagić + 4 more

In the logistics world, special attention should be given to warehousing systems, cost rationalization, and improvement of all the factors that affect efficiency and contribute to smooth functioning of logistics subsystems. In real time industrial practice, the issue of evaluating and selecting the most appropriate forklift involves a complex decision-making problem that should be formulated through an efficient analytical model. The forklifts efficiency plays a very important role in the company. The forklifts are being used on a daily basis and no logistical processes could be done without them. Therefore, it has been decided to determine their efficiency, which will contribute to the optimization of the process in this logistics subsystem. This study puts forward an integrated forklift selection model using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), Full Consistency Method (FUCOM) and Measurement Alternatives and Ranking According to the Compromise Solution (MARCOS) methods. Five input parameters (regular servicing costs, fuel costs, exceptional servicing costs, total number of all minor accidents and damage caused by forklifts) and one output parameter (number of operating hours) were first identified to assess efficiency of eight forklifts in a warehousing system of the Natron-Hayat company using the DEA model. This step allows sorting of efficient forklifts which are subsequently evaluated and ranked using FUCOM and MARCOS methods. A sensitivity analysis is also performed in order to check reliability and accuracy of the results. The findings of this research clearly show that the proposed decision-making model can significantly contribute to all spheres of business applications.

The article deals with the approaches to the definition of “financial flow”. The analysis of existing approaches allows arriving at a conclusion that all authors agree that the financial flow is associated with material, informational and other flows in the logistics system; it is a movement that occurs within the system itself and beyond. The definition presented by the author complements other definitions with the financial aspects of the flow. The article substantiates and defines the main aspects of managing financial flows in logistics systems. The aspects mentioned concern synchronization in the first place of receipts and payments in the logistic system. Taking into account this aspect will reduce the need of the enterprise in borrowed funds, which will have a positive effect on the financial independence and financial performance of the organization. In logistics systems, there are a large number of mixed flows having dissimilar assessment that makes it difficult to compare these flows for optimization purposes. Therefore, taking into account this aspect will improve the processes of optimization in logistics systems. The lack of optimal composition of the financial flow parameters results in a problem of the complication of assessing financial flows in the presence of a large number of parameters, on the one hand, and reducing the objectivity of such an assessment on the other hand. The peculiarities of individual stages of logistics activity significantly influence the choice of methods of financial flows management. Taking this aspect into account in the management process will reduce expenditures of time and means for optimizing financial flows in logistics systems. Taking into account the aspects identified in the work will allow comprehensively approach to the management of financial flows in logistics systems and improve the efficiency and financial performance of enterprises.

It has been proven that at the current stage of economic development, the efficiency of the movement of goods flows and the effectiveness of the operation of logistics systems depends on the efficiency of the use of financial flows. It is emphasized that this is especially relevant when financial resources are limited in enterprises. This requires primary attention to the analysis of relevant financial flows at the stages of forecasting, organization and control of logistics operations as a basis for planning the movement of material flows, management of flow processes and logistics systems as a whole. According to the research results, it was noted that there is no unambiguous interpretation of the concept of "financial flows" in modern scientific discourse, and the authors use different approaches to define it, considering this definition in both a narrow and a broad sense. It was established that financial flows differ in diversity and heterogeneity. Their main types are summarized in the form of a classification based on such basic features as: relation to a certain logistics system; appointment; the method of transferring the advanced value to the goods; form of calculations, etc. It is noted that this list of classification features is not exhaustive and can be expanded. But the use of a significant number of varieties in the analysis and optimization of the management of flow processes in logistics systems can complicate this activity and cause a decrease in the efficiency of logistics management. The main characteristics of financial flows, which are indicators of the effectiveness of the relationships of the participants in the logistics process and testify to the level of efficiency of the management of financial resources and logistics systems as a whole, have been studied. Among them: the volume and value of the flow; time and its orientation. It is noted that other additional characteristics are determined taking into account the specifics of the enterprise and the importance of a specific financial flow. Attention is focused on the fact that the parameters of financial flows in the logistics system must meet certain requirements that are of interest in the organization of flow processes and their management. Among them: sufficiency; consistency with other types of flow processes in the logistics system; adaptability of financial flow characteristics; creation of conditions for optimization; ensuring the reliability of funding sources, etc.

The issue of assessment of efficiency of environmental and sustainability management in agriculture is among the most topical in the last few decades. In Bulgaria there are no comprehensive studies on efficiency of environmental and sustainability management in agriculture in general and in farms of different types. This article applies a holistic framework for assessing efficiency of environmental and sustainability management in Bulgarian agriculture. Initially the multi principle, multi criteria and multi indicator framework for assessing environmental and sustainability management in agriculture is outlined. After that environmental sustainability of Bulgarian agriculture at national and farms levels is evaluated. Finally, factors for improving environmental and sustainability management in agricultural farms in the country are identified. Our assessment at national and farm level have found out that there are significant discrepancies in efficiency levels based on aggregate national data and assessment (perception) of farm managers. Therefore, in management practices all kind of data have to be used in order to be able to take efficient decision at different managerial levels. Having in mind the importance of holistic assessments of efficiency of environmental and sustainability management in agriculture, and the enormous benefits for the farm management and agrarian policies, such studies are to be expended and their precision and representation increased.

Evaluation of Safety Degree at Railway Crossings in Order to Achieve Sustainable Traffic Management: A Novel Integrated Fuzzy MCDM Model
  • Jan 15, 2021
  • Sustainability
  • Aleksandar Blagojević + 4 more

Sustainable traffic system management under conditions of uncertainty and inappropriate road infrastructure is a responsible and complex task. In Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), there is a large number of level crossings which represent potentially risky places in traffic. The current state of level crossings in BiH is a problem of the greatest interest for the railway and a generator of accidents. Accordingly, it is necessary to identify the places that are currently a priority for the adoption of measures and traffic control in order to achieve sustainability of the whole system. In this paper, the Šamac–Doboj railway section and passive level crossings have been considered. Fifteen different criteria were formed and divided into three main groups: safety criteria, road exploitation characteristics, and railway exploitation characteristics. A novel integrated fuzzy FUCOM (full consistency method)—fuzzy PIPRECIA (pivot pairwise relative criteria importance assessment) model was formed to determine the significance of the criteria. When calculating the weight values of the main criteria, the fuzzy Heronian mean operator was used for their averaging. The evaluation of level crossings was performed using fuzzy MARCOS (measurement of alternatives and ranking according to compromise solution). An original integrated fuzzy FUCOM–Fuzzy PIPRECIA–Fuzzy MARCOS model was created as the main contribution of the paper. The results showed that level crossings 42 + 690 (LC4) and LC8 (82 + 291) are the safest considering all 15 criteria. The verification of the results was performed through four phases of sensitivity analysis: resizing of an initial fuzzy matrix, comparative analysis with other fuzzy approaches, simulations of criterion weight values, and calculation of Spearman’s correlation coefficient (SCC). Finally, measures for the sustainable performance of the railway system were proposed.

Improperly managed wastes that have been dumped in landfills over the years pose various challenges, but they also offer potential benefits. The feasibility of recycling such waste depends on the type of wastes, the condition of dumpsites, and the technology implemented for disposal. The selection of an alternative waste disposal method from the many available options for dumpsite remediation is a complex decision-making process among experts. The primary aim of this study is to assist in an extended multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) method to reduce complexity in the proposed dumpsite remediation problem influenced by multiple criteria and to identify the optimal waste disposal method. Data uncertainties are managed with the proposed Fermatean fuzzy preference scale, and the importance of all socio-economic criteria is assessed using the full consistency method (FUCOM). The final ranking results of the weighted aggregated sum product assessment (WASPAS) method identify that the Waste-to-Energy (WtE) process could play a significant role in the disposal of land-filled unprocessed wastes, promoting sustainable waste management. Meanwhile, the methodology explores the idea that financial and logistical constraints may limit the feasibility of large-scale recycling efforts. This combination of environmental science and decision science addresses real-world challenges, helping municipal solid waste management authorities implement sustainable waste management practices.
