Abstract
A new 11 2 −− 3 2 + isomeric transition was found in 64 145Gd 81 from the 144Sm( 3He, 2n) reaction. Its energy measured with a Ge(Li) detector was 721.3±0.7 keV and the half-life 85±7 sec. Energies of “analogous” 11 2 − isomeric states in the other N = 81 nuclei 143Sm, 141Nd and 139Ce were measured with a Ge(Li) detector; their energies were determined to be 754.4±0.7 keV, 756.5±0.7 keV and 754.4±0.7 keV, respectively. The M4 transition probabilities in N = 81 nuclei were compared with theoretical estimates corrected for effects of configuration mixing and changing of radial matrix elements with nuclear radii.
