Abstract
Dynamic technological, social and economic changes are forcing managers of mining enterprises to make decisions aimed at creating conditions for innovative transformation and development of these entities. Companies are beginning to use modern technologies that allow them to increase productivity and reduce production costs, and these activities are causing new expectations of employers in the mining industry in terms of the education and skills of engineering personnel, who, with their competence and motivation, are becoming one of the key groups that determine success. This, in turn, brings with it the need for changes in education and forces the adaptation of study programs to socio-economic needs. Hence the offer of a new course in Geoengineering and Raw Materials Extraction.
