Abstract
Multiple gunshot suicides are uncommon and require careful examination, as oftentimes, a single gunshot wound is usually enough to lead to immediate incapacitation. However, an individual’s ability to act after the initial or even more shots is still possible and thus should be acknowledged as it is observed in various cases such as this one. These incidences could be attributed to different reasons, one being the location of the initial insult. In this case report, we present a case of suicide of a 71-year-old male with two gunshot wounds–one to the abdomen and the other to the right temporal area of the head. The characteristics and localization of the wound, type of firearm, and environment are discussed. Such cases pose a challenge to forensic pathologists and require a thorough investigation to be able to make a proper distinction between homicide and suicide.
