Abstract
This paper introduces a further modified topology of modified packed U-cell topology (MPUC). In this paper, authors use two different DC voltage sources and Perturb and Observe (P & O) technique to track maximum power point. A DC-DC boost converter is used to connect PV panel with multilevel inverter (MLI). The output of inverter is further filtered using LC filter. Authors use two different Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) techniques i.e. PD PWM and POD PWM and compare the results of proposed inverter with these two PWM techniques. MATLAB/SIMULINK environment is used to simulate the proposed inverter with standalone solar system. The output THD of proposed inverter is 0.4% with filter which lies within limit according to IEEE Std 519.
