Abstract
Speech signal is the most natural form of communication. The rapid advances in electronics and computers have resulted in virtual explosion of communication. Under such circumstances there is bound to be some information which is essentially of a private nature and hence has to be confidential and should not be accessible to un-authorised agencies.This paper describes briefly various techniques which are currently in use for making speech secure. It also describes in detail a microprocessor based speech secrecy system developed by CEERI centre, Delhi.
