Abstract

A new Cd(II)-MOF [Cd(dcba)(DMA)]·DMA (1) (H2dcba: 1,1′-di(4-carbonylphenyl)-2,2′-biimidazoline, DMA: N,N-dimethylacetamide) was firstly synthesized and characterized by XRD. Complex 1 is an infinite three-dimensional porous coordination polymer based on {Cd2} cores and dcba2− ligands, resulting in an 8-connected bcu topology. Luminescence study demonstrates that strong emission was observed from complex 1 in solid state at ambient temperature. Further luminescent properties demonstrate that acetone molecules can be selectively detected by 1 from several other normal solvents by fluorescence quenching effect.
