Abstract
The reaction of Zn(OTf) 2 with 1,3-bis(4-pyridyl)propane results in a novel infinite hexanuclear coordination polymer, [Zn 6(OH) 8{(NC 5H 4) 2C 3H 6} 4](OTf) 4 · 3H 2O, which was found to carry out the catalytic transesterification of esters with methanol at room temperature under the mild homogeneous conditions.
