Abstract

Nowadays, spectacularization is always present in television as well as it is a remarkable ingredient of mediatic programmation. Spectacularization and dramatization are part of many TV programs , such as Linha Direta from Rede Globo. This article’s aim is to reflect about mediatic spectacularization, focusing the observation of how death, criminals and victims are presented in Linha Direta. Our object of study are five editions of the program, which were aired during October and November 2004. The special editions Linha Direta Justica were not taken into consideration. The article has as its axis some basic ideas of the French school discourse analysis.
