Abstract

In this paper, a new-style dual-band dual-polarized antenna is proposed by combining a magneto electric (ME) dipole and an electric dipole. The designed antenna consists of a bowl-shaped low-frequency unit and a four-leaf clover high-frequency unit, which is realized by magnetoelectric dipoles and electric dipoles, respectively. Both of them can achieve ±45° polarization with different structural configurations: the ME dipoles have four pieces of radiator and the electric dipoles have two pairs of traditional patch-based dipole. By combining the advantages of the two types of antenna unit, results show that the dual-polarized antenna block is capable of operating in the low-frequency band from 1710 MHz to 2690 MHz and the high-frequency band from 3300 MHz to 3600 MHz.
