Abstract

The linear frequency modulation continuous wave (LFMCW) radar has high theoretical ranging precision. But in the practical process, it acquires the range information from its power spectrum through digital signal processing which is limited by the data length, so its practical system has lower practical ranging precision approximating to its ranging resolution. There are some problems with the existing methods which they have large amount of calculation or are lack of high ranging precision. This paper proposes a CZT - linear fitting algorithm for LFMCW radars. This algorithm can improve the ranging precision significantly to meet the application needs of higher precision radars in the case of adding less calculation.
