Abstract
Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a viral disease, causing a deadly situation around the world. Significant cases need hospitalization and intensive care. Obese, diabetic, and immunosuppressed people have poor prognosis. Here, we are establishing the link between liver disease and COVID-19. A thorough investigation was performed across several articles and databases from 2020 to 2022 to assess the impact of COVID-19 on the liver. As of June 2022, we identified 75 articles in electronic databases discussing the hepatic impact of COVID-19. This review delves into the impact of COVID-19 on liver metabolism, specifically how it exacerbates morbidity and mortality in individuals with preexisting chronic liver disease (CLD).
