Abstract

Industrial shift and change in urban character worldwide is leading to several problems. Brownfield is one such issue. India is a developing country and it is on the verge of facing Brownfield issues. This paper compares the Brownfield framework for redevelopment in Europe and India. Aim of the research is to understand the gape in Indian framework and to find the adaptability of European approach in Indian context. Macro-analytical comparison approach is used to compare the different aspects, such as definition, scale, policy, and strategies. The paper provides understanding of multidimensional approach of different counties for Brownfield redevelopment. The study reveals challenges of Indian Brownfield and need for further investigation.
