Abstract

An E-shaped multiband antenna for WLAN and LTE applications is presented in this paper. A partial ground plane is placed on the substrate with a microstrip feedline technique to excite an E-shaped structure. The proposed antenna design results in a single resonant frequency of 3.5 GHz. Additional two frequencies are resonated by introducing a slot and a stub in the E-Shaped antenna for wireless applications, covering 5.2 and 5.8 GHz. Three resonant bands are achieved with a compact antenna design. The substrate used is a low cost FR4 of 0.8mm thickness and dielectric constant of 4.4.
