Abstract
This paper presents a dual-band compact monopole antenna for Bluetooth, LTE, WLAN and ultra-wideband applications. The proposed dual-band monopole antenna system operates over 2.3–2.9 GHz (TDD-LTE/Bluetooth) and 4.2–10.6 GHz which covers WLAN and upper UWB frequency bands. The antenna is designed using 1.6 mm FR-4 dielectric substrate having a dielectric constant of 4.4 and loss tangent of 0.02. S 11 < −10 dB over 2.3–2.9 GHz and 4.2–10.6 GHz is obtained. The antenna offers stable gain with gain variation < 3 dB over the desired bands and has nearly omnidirectional radiation patterns. The antenna has nearly constant group delay characteristic and has good transient response in the working band. The proposed antenna is fabricated and tested. The measured results agree with simulation results.
