Abstract

A dinuclear oxo-bridged vanadium(V) Schiff base complex, (µ-O)2[V(O)(L)]2, [where HL = 2-((2-aminocyclohexylimino)methyl)-6-ethoxyphenol] has been synthesized and further characterized with standard spectroscopic methods. Structure of the complex has been determined with the help of single crystal X-ray diffraction study. The complex consists of two cyclohexane rings of which one is disordered over its carbon and hydrogen atoms. Moreover, several supramolecular assemblies observed in the crystal packing of the title complex have been studied using DFT calculations and several computational tools (QTAIM, NCI plot and MEP surface analyses).
