Abstract
Dear Comrade Party Members: Judging from the Renmin ribao commentator's articles and from the Central Committee's opinions as relayed to party meetings, the Central Committee is taking a very strong position: "Only sixty thousand of Beijing's students are boycotting classes; the other hundred thousand have made no move. We have three million troops. What is there to be afraid of?" (Deng Xiaoping's words.) This indicates a high probability of armed government suppression of the present democracy movement. Tomorrow's demonstration may well become another bloody slaughter! We have now before us only two choices: To be a Chinese with conscience, a party member with conscience, and fight for the democracy and prosperity of China, or to be an eligible "party member" and enthusiastically respond to the Central Committee's call so as to preserve one's party membership and ensure one's future. Which should we choose?
