Abstract

An ultra-low power buck converter with self-control biasing and dynamic voltage scaling is proposed. In this work, the biasing current of the control circuit will be automatically adjusted with the load, and no additional load detection circuit is required. The proposed buck converter was implemented by using a <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$0.18\ \mu\mathrm{m}$</tex> CMOS process and it achieves 411nA quiescent current at luA load, with >80% efficiency from 10uA-60mA. The input and output range are 1.62-3.63V and 0.63-1.8V respectively, which is suitable for IoT applications under different operating circumstance.
