Abstract
This chapter describes the current body of knowledge regarding the additive effects of fish oil and bio-active agents on the prevention and remediation of clinical disorders. It discusses the singular effect of fish oil consumption in relation to a specific illness, followed by the reported synergistic/additive effects of fish oil combined with bio-active agents. There is substantial evidence that fish oil possesses various physiological activity benefits in human health. The chapter discusses concomitant applications of fish oil with bio-active compounds for the remediation of a variety of clinical disorders. By combinative therapy, the well-documented beneficial health effect of fish oil can possibly be maximized in various approaches. Although this area of research is still in its early stages, it has been receiving increasing attention with the realization that combinative application of fish oil and bio-active compounds may provide vital outcomes and facilitate progress toward the design of beneficial clinical therapies for human health. Studies aimed at finding superior combinative effects of fish oil and bio-active compounds, along with their mechanisms of action, may eventually lead to reductions in the mortality and morbidity rates associated with human health disorders and complications that are of growing concern in modern society.
