Abstract

Under the advocacy of sustainable development concept, oilfield enterprises have been continuously promoting the green and low-carbon transformation of energy supply systems in oil extraction areas in recent years, and microgrid technology is an important means to achieve this goal. This chapter introduces an AC/DC hybrid microgrid engineering case that has been applied in Tarim Oilfield, Xinjiang province, China. The energy management strategy developed by Tianjin University is able to alleviate the impact of PV fluctuations on diesel generators, while simplifying control processes and reducing diesel consumption for oil fields.
