Abstract

In this chapter, the bubble size distribution and the bubble–liquid specific interfacial area in inverse bubbly system are described. The bubble size and its distribution are compared with distribution models to gain insight into the breakup and coalescence mechanisms taking place. Axial profile of bubble number flux is enunciated based on size distribution model incorporated with breakup and coalescence phenomena. Specific interfacial area is analyzed by input energy dissipation. In addition, correlations for Sauter mean bubble diameter and specific interfacial area are also given with operating variables. Model on specific interfacial area based on number density transport equation is also enunciated.
