Abstract

The aim is to establish a baseline for the development of integrated procedures for the (eco)toxicological assessment of released particulate materials during the life cycle of nanocomposites. This protocol includes necessary stages such as simulation of the life cycle of interest at laboratory scale, released particles’ sampling (collection), and characterization from an interdisciplinary perspective. Additional issues include sample identification, maintenance and storage, and sample transportation between laboratories for later evaluation of their associated toxicological and ecotoxicological potential.
