Abstract

This chapter introduces the pneumatic drying system. Since the material is carried out simultaneously in the pneumatic drying process, it is common to call these drying systems pneumatic conveying drying. The pneumatic drying process is widely used in various industries and combines three methods of heat transfer, mass transfer, and pneumatic material transfer. The components of this system are described, and the advantages and disadvantages of this type of drying are examined. Pneumatic dryers are suitable for any powdery, granular, or fibrous solids. The benefits of this system, such as simplicity and cheapness, have made pneumatic dryers popular in many industries, including the food industry. A part of the chapter mentions examples of foods that use the pneumatic drying system.
