When it comes to basic movie creation and editing, such as the compilation of multiple short clips, or shots, into a single movie, the Pro version of QuickTime Player can be perfectly adequate. QT-Object model has opened up a window on all the possibilities for using the QuickTime Control in a production environment. People are familiar with the movie creation methods of the QuickTime Control, together with the various editing methods of the QT-Movie object that makes all this possible. Using these capabilities effectively in the .NET and COM environments requires a range of techniques that are explored conceptually and then implemented in the working code samples provided in this chapter.
